Best Hotels in Tahoe for Families – South Lake Tahoe
OK, ok, so you REALLY want to ski in Heavenly South Lake Tahoe. Because of the sunk cost of owning season passes, I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels in the South Lake Tahoe area. A lot of them can get very pricey especially around major holidays, but if you book in advance or go on off peak weekends, you can still get a good rate.
PRO TIP: Go towards the end of the season, like end of March! Hotel rates are cheaper and there are way fewer people on the slopes. Snowfall changes year to year, but in my experience, the snow might be a little sticky, but 95% the same as during mid-season. In fact, you are more likely to have clear sunny days vs chance of fog and storms.
