Best Hotels Near Disneyland Anaheim by Walking Distance to the Parks

Best Hotels Near Disneyland Anaheim by Walking Distance to the Parks

If you’ve already decided that staying at the official Disneyland hotels are not worth the money (they start from $600-$900 per night, the cost of a luxury villa in Thailand), then this post is for you. You can book Disney character breakfasts without a stay at the hotel if that’s the experience you’re after.

While you could stay a bit further from the park and drive up to the park each day, this would mean paying $40 per day for parking at the Disney car park, in addition to the daily parking fees at the hotel you are staying at, if it wasn’t free. This can run you an additional $25-$70 per day.

Also, the walk from the main gate to the car park can be JUST AS LONG as the walk to the hotel! You have to walk through the Disneyland Downtown district, then past the Disneyland Hotel, and then walk to the particular car parking structure you parked in, which may include taking multiple elevators.

There are plenty of hotels clustered around the block that the Disneyland parks are on, and each cluster is a different walking distance to the main entrance of the parks (the Esplanade).

So I’ve created a diagram to show the clusters of hotels, their walking distances to the main entrance of the Disney parks, and the price ranges.

I’ve chosen hotels that are rated at least 9/10 and cost up to $300 a night during summer for the lowest tier room at the property.

All hotels in the list have a pool, and some hotels have extras, like splash pads.

Not all hotels provide free breakfast – and this was actually what swayed my decision. Just under half of the hotels in this list provide free breakfast – just something to consider as you make your choice!

Unlike most popular lists on where to stay for Disneyland CA, I did not include any Hilton properties in this list, because they were not good value due to the distance from the park and higher parking cost and lack of free breakfast. That said, there are a couple of highly rated Hilton properties with fun looking splash pads for kids like this one and this one.

Tropicana Inn and Suites

Splurge pick, closest walk in the whole list.

If you want to spend the least time walking and the most time in the parks, this is it. It’s on the pricier end of this list, but for families who’d rather pay for proximity than deal with a longer walk twice a day, this is the one to book.

Let me know which one you ended up choosing!

A friend recently stayed at Elements, which is not included in this list because she didn’t recommend it. It is on the East side but further East. She recommended Hilton, but for reasons I noted in the intro, I did not include any Hilton properties.
